Man Found Dead in His Home

Alex Kayramo was found dead in his home at 347 E Granite St with a heart condition. County coroner Dr Emmet J Paulsen ruled natural causes as he slept. Survived by wife Anna Kayramo and several relatives living in Michigan. Remains at Sherman and Reed Mortuary will be sent to Herman, Michigan for funeral services.

Funeral Services for Sam Thoms In Butte

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Duggan Merrill Mortuary Chapel of Roses for Sam Thom as with the Rev. John A Nasstrom officiating. New Traffic Light Near Butte High School Installed

Motorists were alerted that a new blinker traffic light has been installed at the crosswalk near Butte High School on Wyoming Street. Chief B J Riley said the light operates daily during school hours and requires vehicles to stop. Violators face summonses and penalties upon conviction.

Funeral for Ellen Shea Held After Motorcycle Crash

The funeral cortege for Lynn Ellen Shea traveled from Daly Shea Chapel to Immaculate Conception Church for a 9 30 a m mass celebrated by Rev James Gannon. Graveside rites followed at Holy Cross Cemetery with pallbearers named and attendance by Butte High and Butte Central students.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Jane Doney a Butte resident who died while visiting in Calgary were held Wednesday at Grace Methodist Church. Rev. Ole Aarvold presided. Barbara Tippett sang The Old Rugged Cross and Beautiful Isle. Burial followed at Mount Moriah Cemetery with pallbearers Alan Brooks Tom Menneghan Jack Robert George and Thomas Tippett. Reese Jones died Sunday and funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon in Richards Chapel with the Rev. Fred Anstice officiating. William M. Jones and Vera Smith performed hymns, Mrs. Berryman was organist, and the body was forwarded to Giant Falls for cremation.

Streak of Lightning Triggers Boulevard Siren

A stray electrical charge during a severe rainstorm appears to have activated the Boulevard VFD siren. Chief Art Korn says firefighters arrived about 5 a.m. but sheriff’s office dispatch reported no alarm from the station. Technicians will check the central radio siren system to prevent future false triggers.

Promotions Go to 38 in USNR

Thirty eight members of Butte's Naval Reserve Surface Division have been promoted after exams since Aug 1. Lt Cmdr O M Ueland announced vacancies for men 17 to 18 and older former service personnel. Promotions include Charles F Brasier to hospital man third class and several sailors moving from seaman recruit to seaman apprentice, seaman, and fireman ranks.

The funeral of Mrs Rose Malesich was held Wednesday morning at White's Funeral Home and Holy Savior Church with a requiem mass by Rev. Albert N. Kaparich. The children's choir sang responses as many friends attended and a profusion of flowers was displayed. Committal prayers were spoken by Father Kaparich at Holy Cross Cemetery.
