George M Hartsell former Deer Lodge County sheriff died Friday night at St Ann Hospital His home was 514 Oak Conda He served as sheriff 1942 to 1954 later worked as an electrician at Anaconda Reduction Works Surviving are two sons brother sister and several nieces and nephews The body is in Finnegan Co Funeral Home

Alvin V. Taylor Jr. 63 co founder of Taylor Knapp Co. at Philipsburg and former Butte geologist died Friday in Menlo Park California after a long illness. He was VP and secretary of the manganese silver lead zinc mining firm until retiring in 1964. Funeral services will be held in Menlo Park with memorials to Stanford School of Earth Sciences. Born in Baraboo Wisconsin, he was a 1923 Stanford geology graduate.
