A Nazi report signed by The Hangman Heydrich claims clandestine co operation between the Gestapo and police in 13 nations to suppress communism and other state threats. Nations listed include Poland Belgium Holland Yugoslavia Greece Italy Japan Bulgaria Finland Hungary Portugal Spain and Brazil. Argentina and Uruguay were in initial stages while Denmark and Denmarkia show good relations.

Navy Liberalizes Discharge Plan
The Navy eased its point discharge system by adding one quarter point per month served outside the continental United States since Sept 1 1939. Effective Sept 15 the change makes 423 000 more personnel eligible for discharge, Forrestal estimated, joining 327 000 already eligible since Aug 15. About 60 percent of the 750 000 eligible are overseas or at sea. He predicted half of the fleet would be home within six months and peacetime strength around 500 000 within a year. Current totals include about 3 389 000 personnel with 311 030 male officers 8 415 WAVEs officers 2 984 655 enlisted men 73 900 WAVES enlisted and 11 000 nurses. Release scores stay 44 for male enlisted 49 for male officers except aviators and doctors, 29 for WAVES enlisted and 35 for WAVES officers. aviator score remains 44 and doctors fixed Sunday.

Carrier Saratoga Heads Home With 3800 Men Discharged

Local Hero Sgt McCarthy Returns After War Injuries
Sgt Emmet J. McCarthy, former OSS operative in Thailand and Burma, son of Mrs. Timothy J. McCarthy of Butte, is en route to the U S after a plane crash caused arm and leg injuries. Four Die in Seattle Salvage Bureau Fire
A three alarm fire at the Saint Vincent DePaul salvage bureau in Seattle killed four unidentified men in the dormitory. Fire officials said a block of frame buildings, storage sheds, and highly inflammable goods burned rapidly with the third alarm sounding seven minutes after midnight. One man was arrested at the scene with a jacket stuffed with paper and matches.
