Man shoots ex wife then commits suicide at church doorway
In Highland Park Dallas Texas A P Howard P Stewart and his divorced wife were at the Third Christian Science church when he fired at her wounding her in the stomach and then killed himself in the doorway. The wife died at a hospital about an hour later. Two motorcycle officers heard the shots and found Stewart dead. A coroner's verdict will cite murder and death by own action.

Forest Fire Near Yellowstone Grows to 800 Acres
In Livingston Montana an 800 acre blaze raged near Slough Creek just outside Yellowstone National Park. Fire spread through dry timber in Absarokee National Forest as 650 firefighters were to join the line by dawn. Civilian Conservation Corps crews from several Montana camps and enlisted fighters aided in the effort. Officials said lightning is a probable cause. It is the largest fire of the year in the area.
