Transient Bound Over to District Court in Lewistown

Henderson 42 year old transient bound over to district court after pleading guilty to a justice court charge of attempting to rape a 14 year old Lewistown girl. The girl says he grabbed her and forced her into bushes while swimming with others at Spying Creek. She screamed and others sought help. Henderson fled but was caught minutes later.

Missoula delegates chose Robert Mattin to lead the State Professional Photographers association at the convention in Billings. J L Skinner of Lewistown was named vice president, Clarence De Walt of Helena secretary, and Harold McGee of Livingston treasurer.

Auto Driver Hurt as Plane Collides on Highway

In Castle Indiana on Monday a light airplane crashed into a car on highway 40 injuring driver Robert Hampton 51 of Indianapolis while Piper Cub pilot Charles Hefner 34 from Lima Ohio tried to take off. Heffner was police officer in Lima.

Gaming Equipment Seized in Raid at M and M

Sheriff's officers seized gaming equipment in a raid at the M and M after reports that gambling briefly reopened over the weekend. Gambling activity has been down in Butte for several days.

Auto Crashes Injure 10 People

Ten people were injured in automobile accidents across the Butte and Anaconda area since Labor Day weekend. None sustained serious injuries. Several victims remained in hospital for observation while others were treated and released. A hit and run damaged another vehicle, and two minor accidents were investigated by authorities. Separately, Mexican factory owners cut output to three days a week, leaving over 3,500 workers out of full-time work due to high export taxes.
