Montana Power gains higher utility rates on 21 to 11 percent mix
Montana Power Co. won a 9.3 percent overall rate increase approved by the State Public Service Commission on a 21 vote. Electric rates rise 11 percent and natural gas 19 percent with residential bills up about $1.26 and $2.44 monthly respectively. Great Falls Gas also raises rates by 19 percent.

Daniel Berrigan and a nun who acted as his lieutenant in an alleged plot to kidnap a trial adviser were sentenced Tuesday to federal prison terms for smuggling letters in and out of jail. The government said no new trials would be sought for the Harrisburg Seven on conspiracy charges. Berrigan, 48, already serving a six year term for destroying draft board files in 1968, received two years on each of four counts.
