Mrs Dorothy Pressler Lemke, victim of Harry F Powers the alleged Bluebird murderer, reportedly drew 4000 from two Northboro banks before leaving for West Virginia on July 28. Her sister Mrs Charles Fleming identified her body among five found on Powers burial ground. Police say Lemke wrote from Uniontown asking sister not to write for 10 months. District Attorney Will E Morris says most blood money traced, stored in a safety deposit box. Powers had about 4000, minus 1000 later withdrawn by his attorney.
George J. Wemyss of Quincy Massachusetts testified in New Hyde Park New York about being shanghaied and threatened with death after refusing to repudiate affidavits given to the federal trade commission He described attempts on his life including a kidnapping in August and a plan to force him to sign a death by own action letter and flee to Ireland for a $25000 payoff.
Don McAllister chair of the parks and playgrounds committee announced plans to repair and reshape city playgrounds next week. Crews will level fields to host football season openers and provide space for Butte grammar school youths to play.

Calcutta dispatch reports Moyer Uddin, a native hunter, swam down the Jamura river clutching the tail of a man-eating tiger stranded on a raft. The tiger fought but Uddin pinned the animal with a club and both floated downstream until villagers captured the big cat.
