Washington September 5 The Senate faces renewed opposition from a mix of Democrats and Republican independents to the Hoover administration tariff plan as leaders Kinson and Borah forge an agreement to defer a narrow agricultural focus. Mrs Helen Strock was critically injured and Frank Ecker, son of the dead woman, suffered a broken thigh as Strock’s car overturned while en route from University Heights. Myron Hainline 21, son of Mrs Strock, was uninjured. Strock remained in grave condition with scalp wound and possible skull fracture along with multiple fractures and bruises. Mrs Strock, Hamilton bookkeeper for the orchard company, had moved from San Francisco two years ago for health. her husband C W Hanrahan resides in San Francisco.
Mrs. Londo Ferrari, 35, died at a hospital early today after allegedly swallowing Lysol. police officer rushed her from the Illinois block to seek a physician when her husband alerted authorities.
Thomas H. Campbell, world wheat king, will be principal speaker at the annual Montana products dinner sponsored by the Rotana club in Butte on October 1. Campbell, famed for advisory work on large scale farming for the Soviet government, runs the largest wheat ranch near Hardin and is a leading figure in farming. He is expected to discuss Montana farming and the use of Montana products as the club, 80 women business leaders, continues its active service work. The event last year drew over 800 guests from across the state.

In Lincoln Nebraska a small white rabbit cowed rattlesnakes in a pen at the state fair then bit a 15 foot python after being placed in the cage by mistake. The startled keeper took the rabbit from the enclosure as the reptile backed off.

Helena Sept 5 Two men already serving prison terms confessed to the July 18 Ronan State bank robbery with help from Joe Brennan and Easton Boone both of Helena Lloyd Wallace Polson special prosecutor said confessions were filed by Martin Ernst and Martin Jensen who are serving sentences for looting and a Great Falls inn robbery The notes say Boone and Jensen entered the bank while Brennan and Ernst drove the escape cars Boone is jailed at Polson awaiting a second trial after a hung jury in the first trial.
Women of Butte organized a blood transfusion effort at Murray hospital for J. F. E. Thompson of Billings after a serious accident on the Butte Meaderville road last Monday. Thompson, weakened by blood loss and an amputated leg, showed slight improvement after the transfusion. Early morning brought 15 volunteers for tests, with crowding at 10 a.m. as more donors gathered.
