Eight sets of twins attend Butte's Immaculate Conception School and a ninth pair will join within the week. Five-year-old children of Mr and Mrs W J O'Brien of 1007 Missoula are expected to enroll soon, making nine twin pairs at the parochial school.
President Kennedy told Congress leaders the United States will take necessary steps to stop Castro regime from using force or threats in the western hemisphere. He cited Soviet supplied Cuba arms as defensive and warned gravest issues would arise if offensive capabilities emerged.
William P. Ellis a registered voter files in district court seeking to disqualify Gary F. Garrett Republican nominee for county commissioner contending Garrett was Utah resident at filing. Ellis represented by Joseph P. Monaghan cites correction of election returns petition. Garrett 26 current sole opponent of Elizabeth Gerry for District No. 1 four year term. Gerry won Democratic nomination in tight race and serves as successor to late husband Willis Gerry elected 1960. Garrett filed April 3 for Rialto Theater and Ranchette Motel management at 2020 Fir. Independent filings deadline was Aug 8.
Mrs Sharon Hutchinson and two others were injured in a one car crash near Warm. The car veered left shoulder 300 feet along a borrow pit then struck a telegraph pole while reentering the highway. Highway Patrolman T A Joseph reported they were treated at hospital.
The forecast calls for fair and warmer conditions across the region with a high near 76 and a low around 42. Partly cloudy skies are expected Thursday with a few showers possible and a slight cool down west of the divide.
Deputies responded Tuesday to a report at 3107 Ottawa and resolved the incident without further trouble. Officers secured the scene and ensured safety for nearby residents and onlookers. No injuries or arrests were reported.

Butte parochial schools including Boys and Girls Central report 3745 students on opening day with a net gain of seven from last year. St Anns leads with 670 registrations, Conception 533 second, Girls Central 450, Boys Central 360, and several others show small changes as foreseen enrollments may push totals higher.
The body of 23 year old Dell Hanson of Gardiner was recovered from the Yellowstone River about a quarter mile downstream from where he vanished after an overturned canoe nine days earlier. Park County sheriff Albert F. Nickelson located the body from a boat, just beneath the water’s surface at Carbella, a small post office 20 miles north of Gardiner.
Shelby rancher and ex Democratic state chairman Jack Toole urged an investigation by the governor's office into reported lack of funds for food at the State Training School and Hospital in Boulder. Gov officials countered the claim, citing possible parental fee delinquencies and a funding misunderstanding.

The eight Labor Day fatalities, Montana's worst holiday toll, include How ard W Balzer 22 Spokane and Paul Harold LaValley 31 Great Falls in a fiery Columbus crash.
