Butte parochial schools opened the 1968 69 term with 2784 students, down 154 from last September. Boys Central increased to 445 while Girls Central dropped to 410. Holy Savior Immaculate Conception St Joseph and St Raymond posted large elementary losses. St Ann remained the largest with 550 students but will limit class size.

City County pool bid rejection urged after high cost
The planning committee advised rejecting all bids for the Stodden Park swimming pool after the lowest bid of 376 673 exceeded the available funds by about 130 000. About 262 000 is total funds with 15 000 to 20 000 for fees, leaving 240 000 to 245 000 for construction.
