Graf Zeppelin completed its record long voyage and landed at Friedrichshafen Germany at 8 51 a m local time, marking a successful end to the world circumnavigation. The airship's crew celebrated the achievement as crowds gathered to witness the historic return to base.
Five parochial schools opened in Butte with about 1500 pupils. Christian Brothers high school enrolled about 300 and Girls' Central high had over 250 girls. Parochial grade schools drew 950 students with Sacred Heart 250 St Patrick 380 and Immaculate Conception 320. Six parochial schools will open next Monday with registration starting Friday. Regular classes begin today as freshmen at Butte High received orientation and library guidance.

United Press reports the Graf Zeppelin nears Fried richshafen after circling the globe. If it lands safely before 6 a.m. E S T it may beat its Lakehurst to Lakehurst record. At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday it had logged 62 hours 15 minutes aloft over the Atlantic.
Oil magnate Harry F. Sinclair, jailed for contempt of court, will no longer receive automobile rides to the prison Potomac river wharf clinic after Major William Peak and George S. Wilson ordered removal of the transport duty. The move follows reports Sinclair was seen leaving the jail in a car with the prison physician, a role tied to his pharmacy duties at the clinic.
Deer Lodge county voters authorized a 50,000 road bond to build an oiled and gravelled highway from Anaconda to Georgetown Lake. The tally was 1511 in favor and 165 against, with light turnout under 25 percent. The bond triggers matching state and federal funds and places the road in the federal system. Contracts are expected to be let soon and graveling and oiling to begin next summer.

Two highway engineers were killed when a student pilot offered them a free airplane ride near Commercial Airways field in Kansas City. The craft crashed seven minutes after takeoff. Passenger Boyd Adsit, 42, died instantly. Warren Gotwall, 30, died at a hospital about an hour later.
In Cascade Idaho on September 3 Mrs Louise Higgins six braced by two chest wounds and four days without shelter chose to ride a horse rather than a stretcher. She rode about 60 miles over a mountain trail to reach a hospital joined by her husband Merlin Higgins Dr Ward and forest guards. The rescue caravan set out before noon aiming to complete the trek in roughly four days.
The American Manganese Producers association plans a Washington conference Monday and Tuesday to discuss manganese ore on the free tariff list. W B Daly of Anaconda and John H Cole of Butte lead Montana involvement as 34 states attend. An address on floatation of rhodochrosite manganese ore from the Butte District is to be delivered. The Butte district is a major manganese producer.
The Deer Lodge National Forest, closed since August 15, reopened yesterday at noon after approval by Major Evan Kelly and a local office handover to John B. Taylor. Within an hour extra staff were recalled and the forest was opened. 13 workers stood watch during the closure. One fire occurred but was quickly controlled, though officials warn fire hazards remain high and urge precautions.
