Atlantic Richfield studies Butte site for mine waste repository
Atlantic Richfield confirmed it is considering a site north of the Kelley Headframe in Butte for a repository to dispose of historic mine wastes. The plan would expand capacity at a Mine Wastes Repository during Superfund cleanup of the Silver Bow Creek Corridor and involves about 850 000 cubic yards of contaminated material.
