Butte Raid Shuts Lloyds Of Butte Over Gambling Equipment
State officials led by Atty. Gen. Arnold H. Olsen and two assistants with Silver Bow County sheriffs raided Lloyds of Butte Thursday. A court order shut the restaurant and bar as a common public nuisance and about $2,600 in cash and checks were seized along with 12 slot machines punchboards and associated gambling gear. The action follows a complaint accusing owner John M. Lloyd of operating illegal gambling devices and the state will seek the money turned over to School District No. 1.
