Berlin reports via the Voelkischer Beobachter that 300 Russian officers and men were executed after a mutiny at Rjasan near Moscow. The OGPU, with 3000 men, used airlift and artillery to quell the uprising. all mutineers were arrested and 300 were court-martialed and shot.
A total of 15 petitions for final admission to United States citizenship and 17 declarations of intention were filed in August in Butte courts. Ten petitions and seven declarations were in federal court. five petitions and 10 declarations in state courts. Next naturalization hearing is Sept. 28 before Judge James H. Fresh high winds fanned two forest fires in Glacier National Park tonight causing them to run wild across about 2000 acres of timber. A blaze on the west side of Going to the Sun Pass crossed the highway and burned up a mountainside toward Granite Park chalets, which were spared.
Geraldine Cannon aged two died after falling into a tub of lye solution in a rooming house kitchen. She suffered extensive burns over two thirds of her body before succumbing at Murray hospital. Her mother and others rushed her for emergency treatment. The accident occurred yesterday morning as she wandered into the kitchen while her mother visited a friend.
