Two Butte Men Kidnapped Freed in Idaho
Joseph Mogarty and Arthur Ellingson were abducted from the Ben Jo Bar in Butte after a gunman took over $100. They were found safe in Post Falls Idaho after being held and later freed in Spokane by federal agents. Jessie Bert Bishop, 21, Tampa Fla, was arrested in Spokane on kidnapping charges and held on bond.

Butte Miner Receives Heroism Medal For Saving Colleague
James Francis Novak, 22, a stope miner at Montana Mines, Stauffer Chemical Co., Maiden Rock near Melrose, is one of ten awarded the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association gold medal for heroism. He saved John Turk, 48, of 3160 Amherst, Butte, after a Dec. 10, 1964, cave-in in the East Le Marche workings 30 miles south of Butte.

Washington Couple Dies In Accident
A Walla Walla couple died when their car left US Highway 12, rolled into Lolo Creek, and rested upside down in three feet of water near Lolo Hot Springs, about four miles east of Lolo. Clifford Hartley, 75, and Mrs. Hartley were trapped in the vehicle. an autopsy was ordered to determine drowning versus injuries. The crash raised Montana's road toll to 80, down from 97 a year earlier.
