Flint Michigan May 27 A blood stained pair of trousers was found in 17 year old Balfe Macdonalds room shortly after his mothers body was found beaten to death in her bed. Police launched a statewide search for Balfe Macdonald who disappeared at about the time Mrs Grace B Macdonald a 54 year old widow of social prominence was attacked. The body was discovered by Wesley Flowers and wife Doris who were Mrs Macdonalds houseman and maid. Under the same pillows were heavy book ends used in the assault.
