Butte Central grads set for new chapters this fall
Butte Central High School seniors Trevor Phillips and Meredith Varady prepare to start college. Phillips heads to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix to study psychology while Varady attends Carroll College in Helena to pursue biology in a pre medical track. Varady, class co salutatorian, aims to become an obstetrician gynecologist and values the support from Central. Both credit their high school years with shaping their goals and emphasize close bonds with classmates.

Butte tax abatements win strong local backing for Cenate plant
Cenate seeks millions in tax abatements to locate a silicon based battery materials factory in Butte. Local supporters from North Western Energy St James Healthcare Montana Carpenters Union and Local accountants backed the proposal at a public hearing. If chosen Butte would host a 40 acre Montana Connections site near the REC Silicon facility with supply from Oslo pilot operations. Other sites include Moses Lake Tri Cities WA and Hermiston OR.
