Plane Possibly Crashed In Montana Idaho Border Range

A rancher reported a four engine passenger plane may have crashed Thursday in mountains along the Montana Idaho border. Civil Defense dispatched search planes as several witnesses saw a large low flying craft with one engine aflame and U S Air Force markings. No radio contact was established and officials said no missing aircraft was reported.

Israeli Fighters Down Egyptian Plane Near Border

Israeli fighters shot down an Egyptian army plane after four MIGs crossed the border from Sinai. An Israeli spokesman said one MIG was hit and fell apart, with all Israeli crew safe. Butte Man Dies in County Jail After Head Injury

Edward O'Brien, 55, of the Doyle Block died Thursday afternoon in Silver Bow County jail. Coroner reports a subdural hematoma from a blow or fall, investigation ordered. O'Brien, a longtime miner, had been jailed for vagrancy and drunkenness after a police court appearance.

Car Crashes Into Band Parade Injuring 12 in Maine

Livingston Couple Shot Dead in Car in Livingston

Police identified Isabel Williams 47 and Tony Chamberlain Jr. 36 found shot in a car in a quiet Livingston neighborhood about 6:30 am. The pair, friends for years, died from close range shots with a .38 revolver in Chamberlain’s hand. Williams managed an optometrist shop and held a Masonic Eastern Star post.
