Saturn 1 launches from Cape Kennedy with Pegasus 2 satellite
The Saturn 1 rocket lifted off at 2 35 am from Cape Kennedy Florida sending Pegasus 2 into orbit. The launch produced a 1 5 million pound thrust blaze lighting the night sky and river reflections that spurred a school of mullet to leap from Banana River. Pegasus 2 deployed wingspan panels of 12 feet and will monitor meteoroids with orbital altitude between 316 and 460 miles.
