Frank Anthony Sweeney twenty eight was found dead beside the road east of Washoe park in Anaconda. Deputy Schwartz reported possible alcohol on scene. Harrington Gallagher Thill held for investigation while McHugh released. Survived by family in city and Mammouth Pa. Funeral at home of brother Monday afternoon with time to be announced.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks for acts of sympathy during illness and death of their daughter, mother, wife, and sister. Under clear skies the Anaconda Junior High dominated the meet as six records fell. Junior High swept the team cups, beating St Pauls 7314 to 54 in boys and Beaverdam 45 to 32% in girls, with Daly and Lincoln also claiming event cups and medals for top finishers.
A man giving the name John Doe Moore was arrested by Night Chief Russell Osborne and Officers Connolly and Horvath in Anaconda and turned over to Sheriff Co. W. Smith. He carried a deputy badge and a .25 caliber gun. Investigators seek ties to the Fitzgerald grocery robbery in Anaconda and the Deer Lodge drug store robbery the same night.
In Anaconda on May 24 Judge George B. Winston granted naturalization papers to three women. Amelia Jakicich renounced allegiance to the king of the Serbs, Tena Madsen formerly of Norway, and Mabel Price formerly of England. John Yeoman’s application was continued to June 14.
SLOSSON FILES FOR ASSESSOR POSITION SLOSSON FILES FOR ASSESSOR POSITION S. R. Slosson, 208 West Fourth street, filed today as a candidate for the office of county assessor on the republican ticket. Mr. Slosson was a Candidate in the last campaign. Because talkies cannot be produced in Spain era, Spanish sound films are being in other coun tries with Spanish actors. SWEENEY-In this city, early Saturday morning, Frank Anthony Sweeney, age 28 years, beloved son of J. M. Sweeney, brother of William J. Arthur L. and Walter D., all of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Clyde Bitner, of Mammoth, Pa. The body will be removed to the home of his brother, Walter D. Sweeney, 415 East Third street, from where the funeral will be from at a time to appear in later papers.
Rural school children from Deer Lodge County display their handiwork at the courthouse in Anaconda from Monday to Wednesday. Mrs Essie Grant Buckley and the county examining board organized the exhibit. Earlier, the group enjoyed a picnic at Gregson Springs with swimming games and lunch.
Pupils at Washington junior school of Butte collected 29 tons of tinfoil during the past two months to aid shipments to Billings Orthopedic hospital. Proceeds go to the treasury of the crippled children's hospital in Billings.
Commissioners in Petroleum County pursue leasing a business block in Winnett for a courthouse. The Montana Supreme Court notes varying figures across counties including Blackfeet reservation and Powder River, with several districts unreported and Farm counts listed for several counties.
Judge George B. Winston granted a motion to amend pleadings in the estate of Mary Elizabeth Stage with John A Stage as administrator. The water rights case lines up for hearing June 3 before Judge W E Carroll of Butte.
Anaconda high school sophomores scrubbed and whitewashed the sentinel A on the mountain southwest of Anaconda. The group, led by Joe McCarvel Geil Smith William Herbolich and Bob McAlpine, carried gear up the hill then weeded the area and hosted a picnic lunch for the class.

Mrs Julia Hanley wife of Tim Hanley of 621 East Park street died last evening after a brief illness. Born in Ireland she came to Butte over 15 years ago. Survived by husband two sisters and a brother in Ireland a sister and brother in California two aunts in Butte. Body at the Daly-Shea chapel with funeral plans not yet set.
A local society note lists Montanans visiting various towns including Dillon Great Falls Helena Missoula and Butte. Names such as R E Albright R E Haines Mary Carey Lester Stiles Charles Campbell Evelyn Ward and J Johnson appear among travelers and hosts at several named hotels and stops.
Edmund Gullion of Washington won the national oratorical contest in a May 24 event. The victory crowned Gullion as the top speaker in a nationwide competition.
Charles H Otto, 66, a longtime stationary engineer and janitor at Whittier school, died last evening at his home 2113 Elm street after four months of illness. He was born in New York, lived in Evanston and Indiana before settling in Butte, and was active in the Modern Woodmen of America and the Engineers' union. Surviving are his widow, three sons Carl Gil bert and August, two daughters in law, three sisters, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Body at Sherman Reed chapel awaiting funeral plans.

Vohn Lajorovich 63 died last evening at his home on 203 Anaconda road after a lingering illness. Born in Serbia he lived here for years and worked as a miner. He is survived by his widow Mrs Zlatna Lajorovich. Funeral arrangements not yet set.
Browning in Glacier County has become the principal population center with 1159 residents, surpassing Cut Bank which now lists 848 residents. Glacier Park’s population stands at 476.
Undertakers notice asks all Sir Knights of Montana Commandery No 3 and visiting brothers to meet at the Masonic temple at 1 p m to serve as escort for the late Sir Knight A J Stewart. Mount Moriah Lodge No 24 calls all brothers to attend the funeral of A J Stewart at 1 o'clock this afternoon at the Masonic temple.
The remains of A. J. Stewart to be moved to the Masonic temple for 2 p.m. services led by Rev. E. J. Groeneveld under Mount Moriah Lodge. Funeral at Mount Bethel M E Church follows at 2:30 p.m. Interment Mount Moriah. Walkerville Circle to gather at 18 Rose Street for sister Sarah A. Prout’s services at 8 p.m. tonight.
