The Montana toll for traffic deaths rose to 85 after two fatal crashes. Leonardo Navario, 51, of Weslaco Texas, died after a collision near Savage. Esther Maria Navario, 11, was in critical condition with a skull fracture. Werner Aho, 41, of Roberts, died when his car went beneath an oil tanker east of Billings.

Man Dies Attempting to Save Dog From Train
MISSOULA UPID US Forest Service engineer George Bright aged 62 died on Thursday while trying to rescue his dog on a railroad bridge 25 miles east of Missoula. Mil waukee Road freight train with 129 cars could not stop in time. Bright and the dog perished on the bridge near Rock Creek at Ravenna.
