Promised Youth Faces Madison Valley Murder Indictment
Carl Johnson, a 20 year old parolee from Montana State Prison at Deer Lodge, is indicted for the murder of Cornelius Weeda in Madison valley. He allegedly confessed to Olympia police after robbing Weeda and fleeing to the valley. The case dates back to the night of the fatal shooting and the following discovery of the victim. Johnson is held in Olympia, awaiting transfer to Virginia City for trial. The Madison county attorney reported the confession and motive as robbery.
