Berlin May 22 Part of a fleet of 116 ships from America unloaded food in German ports Thursday. U S economists predicted a $750,000,000 tax bill in 1948 to feed 46,000,000 hungry Germans in the British American zones. Col Hugh B Hester said the peak of the food crisis had passed with gradual improvement expected to the next harvest. Bremen port officials said several ships unloaded grain and flour at Bremen Hamburg and Emden.

Reclamation seeks 23 million for Missouri basin work
