Butte to Host U S Army Induction Center July First
Butte Montana is set to become the army headquarters hub when the U S Army recruiting and induction offices move from Missoula to Butte about July 1 under Major John F Nelson. The detachment of about 40 officers and men plus civil service clerks will bring more than 100 people to establish homes here. The move will require office space exam rooms laboratories and clerical and transport divisions. Local leaders expect substantial economic and morale benefits as 50 men pass through daily for final examinations.

The vanguard of the petticoat Army plans to apply at the Army recruiting office in the Federal building this morning. Sgt. Nick F. Hertges says he can recruit women high school graduates aged 21 to 45, with education equivalent if not a graduate. Secretary Stimpson announced about 12 200 women to start nationwide, 9 000 in air raid warning and the rest as clerks typists operators and technicians. The authorization also empowers recruitment of up to 150 000 women into the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps.

WPB freezes safety razors not in retailers hands
The War Production Board bans sale and delivery of all safety razors held by manufacturers and jobbers and orders them made available to the armed services. Retail stores are unaffected by the freeze which takes effect at 2 01 a m Eastern War Time Saturday. The WPB said razor manufacturers have denied copper use and cannot yet supply Army and Navy with substitutes.

Shrine Spring Ceremonial Slated Today

Burns Fatal to Rail Worker in Missoula Yard

Camacho Calls Congress Into Session
Mexico City May 22 President Avila Camacho called a special session of Congress to declare war on Germany Italy and Japan and to adopt measures including seizure of Axis property and internment of dangerous Axis nationals. The Silver Bow County Restaurant association in Butte met Friday and set rationing rules for coffee sugar and related items in city eateries. Al Hultman led the meeting as president and shops will charge for a second coffee cup upon request with two sugar cubes or one teaspoon of sugar per cup and a measured amount for cereals and fruit.
