Ranchers wary as water rights call looms on Clark Fork
In Deer Lodge, two officials from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes outlined how a call on junior water rights could be issued on the Clark Fork River during low flows to restore fisheries and boost recreation. About 60 attendees heard that the Milltown Water Right dating to 1904 could be used if daily flows dip to 500 cfs for four days within a five day window, with readings at Torah Bridge USGS gage guiding enforcement.

Morrison back in prison for up to 12 years in probation violations
James Jerome Morrison, 44, who previously served time for exposing himself and touching a 10-year-old girl at Silver Bow Homes, is ordered to Montana State Prison for up to 12 more years after a revocation hearing. Prosecutor Ellen Donohue urged the sentence, citing numerous probation violations and safety risks to the community. The judge granted the request for revocation of the suspended portion of Morrison’s sentence.
