Idaho Senator Taylor to Speak Here Tuesday

Idaho Senator Glen H. Taylor and family plan a three city western tour with a stop at the Fox theater Tuesday night. The event is sponsored by the Montana Progressive Citizens of America with Mrs. Margaret Driggs arranging. Taylor will also speak at the University of Montana Missoula student union auditorium in a Progressive Democrats program.

Home Atherton Fire Crew Rescues Cai

Home Atherton Volunteer Fire department made its first official run Wednesday night answering a call beyond the call of duty. Firemen rescued a kitten perched atop a telephone pole on Green Lane avenue after coaxing failed. Chief Bill Platt led the initial run with Assistant Chief Herman Fleiner Capt. Ain Olson and Firemen Maurice Moore Guy D Platt Bill Pleiner Bob Fleiner Jack Miller and Andrew Johnson. The Home Atherton district, created last year, seeks a fire hall site to be ready by next fall. All district men are invited to a department meeting at 7:30 PM Friday at Chief Flatt’s home, 4 North Lake Drive.

Evangelism Chairman Named by Lutherans

Mrs. Marvin Sterrett was chosen chairman of parish evangelism at Emanuel Lutheran church during a board meeting and tied to the national parish evangelism program by the Augustana Lutheran Church. Anaconda Clergyman to Address Nurses Graduation

Leonard Spray car of Anaconda has been named commencement speaker for the Sisters of Charity School of Nursing at St James Hospital. Graduation exercises will be held at St Patrick church on Sunday May 30 at 2 30 oclock with 28 graduates receiving diplomas. A graduation dance for nurses and friends will follow Saturday night in the hospital auditorium.

Montana university musicians delight Butte Rotary with solos

An excellent program by Montana University School of Music performers in Missoula drew enthusiastic Rotary Club applause at the Finlen hotel. Soloists Miss Hasmig Gedicklan, Prof. Rudolph Wendt, and Finyd Chapman showcased vocal and piano numbers, praised as one of the most enjoyable Rotary programs. Edwin M Nichols of Rogers Texas told police he lost eighty dollars in travelers checks at a Butte establishment.

Camp Fire Girls to Visit Helena

A large group of Camp Fire Girls will travel by Intermountain bus to Helena on Saturday to tour historic sites in the capital. Many girls are paying their own way with funds from doughnut sales. The bus leaves Butte at 9:30 am and returns by 7:30 pm with a stop at a gold dredge between here and Helena, California, a leading state in water power development.
