Plans for Pest Control Formed in Lake County
About 650 farmers attended meetings to form a Lake County pest control organization. The plan uses poison distributed by the Indian service under the Bureau of Biological Survey, with J. T. Palmer, J. C. Paisley, and G. A. Wooley directing. District chairmen were appointed across numerous communities including Arlee St. Ignatius Hillside Morese North St. Ignatius Ronan areas and neighboring locales.

In Hamilton on May 20, church teams hosted events at home settings. St Pauls guild, Federated Aid society, Presbyterian Aid, and a lunch at Mrs Neal's brought about sixty attendees. The All-Star club held a bridge party at the Masonic temple. Hamilton high Girls club hosted a tea with a program by several students. De Molay chapter elected officers led by Howard Robinson as master counsellor.

Jefferson county federation of women clubs held an all day session at Whitehall gymnasium hosted by Whitehall Woman's club. Dr Caro line McGill of Butte spoke in the afternoon on Why We Behave Like Women. A three act marionette play The Rose and the Ring was shown by Miss Inez Haskins and the Marionette club of Butte high school. Mrs J R Mullen of Boulder and Mrs W P Coghlan of Whitehall sang with piano by Mrs I C Mayfield.

W M Cobleigh dean of engineering announces Montana State college will host a student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Officers include Claiborne Brinck of Butte as president Earl Walters of Bozeman as vice president Tom Hurley of Billings as secretary and Ray Loomis of Custer as treasurer. Membership is limited to chemical engineering students. The group will arrange industry plant tours and host meetings with prominent chemical engineers.

Pioneer Polson Matron Honored On Eightieth Birthday
Mrs. Sophia Hanson, pioneer Polson matron born in Kilbourn Wisconsin in 1854, was celebrated Monday on her 80th birthday with a tea hosted by daughter Mrs. J A Johnson. Along with family, neighbors sang duets and honored her long life from Wisconsin to the Flathead Valley frontier.

Scotland to clear slums in five years say secretary
Sir Godfrey Collins, secretary for Scotland, pledged in Glasgow to remove slums within five years. He cited that over a third of residents lived two or more per room and noted 21,000 new houses built last year with state aid, yet called it insufficient.
