A frantic search is underway for an American Marine officer trapped by a landslide. The storm system brings heavy winds and near foot snowfall across Montana and nearby regions. With one third of precincts reporting at 10 15 tonight Mayor Benjamin F Stapleton led in Denver according to compilations by the Denver Post and Denver News. Post figures from 102 of 314 precincts in Denver showed Stapleton 13872 Begole 13862 Bock 12834.
John McCormick and Mrs. Janet Hamilton Gattis planned to wed in Honolulu at noon but were delayed when Colleen Moore obtained a final decree of divorce. Geneva May 19. Arthur Henderson foreign minister of Britain's labor government was designated by the League of Nations council to preside over the world conference for limitation and reduction of armaments beginning February 2, 1932. Henderson thanked colleagues for the honor but said
John Oster, 46, a state penitentiary guard, was found dead with five bullet wounds in his head in his car at the foot of Emmett street. Neighbors said he warned several small boys to leave the area moments before the shooting.
Lisbon residents fled as two violent earthquake shocks struck at 3 25 a m today causing alarms across the capital. The tremors rattled structures and prompted an emergency response, with injuries reported and officials assessing damage.
Livingston May 19. Traffic signals were voted out tonight by the city council after two years of operation. Roughly 100 citizens, mainly business men, protested the reinstallation following two crashes when the lights were first installed. No accidents since the signals were knocked down, despite three serious crashes earlier.
