Fall into ditch fatal to girl in Hamilton
A 2-year-old Darby girl died in a Hamilton hospital after falling into a two to three foot deep water filled drainage ditch Friday. She lay in water about 15 minutes before rescuers reached her. Martha Bishop, daughter of Forrest and Mrs. Bishop, was with her 5-year-old brother Elmer near their home when the accident occurred while they followed a puppy. Breathing resumed after three hours of treatment but she never regained consciousness.

Aged Chinook Man Charged With Murder Of Wife
Don Butler about 70 is charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife Leona Butler 56. Judge Bernard Thomas ordered commitment to Warm Springs State Hospital for observation after a preliminary hearing. The body was found after a neighbor alert and a phone call from Butler. Pathologist testified the woman was killed by blows with a heavy sharp instrument.
