In Greenwood township, Millville, Pa., a five room log farmhouse burned killing Lester Lorew six Ruth Anne five and Evelyn three. Ten children aged four months to twelve years were in the house. Vera woke others and Oscar Jr tried to rescue siblings but smoke forced him back. Parents Oscar and Mrs Lorow were seven miles away at Mordansville where the father played in an orchestra.

Railroad porter fatally injured in Helena incident
