NTSB releases preliminary report on Anaconda fatal helicopter crash
The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report on the Anaconda helicopter crash that killed Justin Price 28 of Avon on April 26. It outlines general crash circumstances and notes no determinate cause yet. Price worked for a contractor for Atlantic Richfield and was spreading fertilizer when the Bell 206 L4 went down in a gully west of Smelter Hill. The helicopter loaded at 6:44 and 6:50 a.m. and then climbed to about 200 feet before turning left and descending rapidly out of view. No witnesses. Ground crew and a company representative alerted authorities. The wreckage was recovered for examination. Price is survived by his wife Jessica Dunlop and three boys. a fourth child is expected.
