Michael Cantlon 90 longtime Western pioneer and former Salt Lake City police chief died at his son Emmett Cantlon’s home after a weeklong illness. Born in Roscommon Ireland on March 17 1840 he migrated to the United States in 1854 and worked as a saddler and harness maker before enlisting in the Thirteenth Cavalry in 1861.
