Twin Bridges man dies in accident
John Henry Mailey 86 of Twin Bridges died in a one car crash 11 miles west of Twin Bridges near the Point of Rock Bridge on Montana 41 at 8 40 p m Sunday. His wife 81 was injured, hospitalized in Dillon in critical condition. The accident raised the state traffic death toll to 64 and involved vehicle rollback into a borrow pit.

Thief Sentenced Two Years In Federal Custody
Laurence Shirley Showers, 29, pleaded guilty to stealing and cashing a federal social security check belonging to an ailing war veteran. Judge W D Murray sentenced him to two years in federal prison and he will be taken to McNeil Island Prison by a deputy U S marshal. The $103 check was stolen a day after Showers was arrested by Butte police.
