Butte trustees decide on mediation with the Butte Teachers Union after negotiations stalled over defining the teacher workday. A Tuesday 7:30 p.m. meeting in the Administration Building is tentative, as picket lines and uncertainties linger.
Thunderstorms drenched much of Montana on Saturday easing drought without ending it. Rain arrived from the west delivering multi million dollar downpours in scattered areas. Dillon ranchers and Helena residents welcomed the showers as butte and Dillon reported .21 inches in a few hours. The storm added moisture to spring crops and winter wheat lacking snow cover statewide.
Andrew Daulton Lee, 25, found guilty of passing top secret documents about a U S spy satellite to Soviet agents amid a Los Angeles Mexico City ring with Christopher Boyce. Sentences may reach life. Boyce to be sentenced May 27 and Lee June 20.
