Governor Says Lost Letter Delayed Montana 1 Million Payment

In Runnymede England Queen Elizabeth II, U S Secretary of State Dean Rusk and British leaders honored the memory of President John F Kennedy as his widow Jacqueline Kennedy attended the tribute. The queen bequeathed a green acre of the meadow by the Thames to the American people and Mrs Kennedy expressed gratitude through the U S Embassy. The ceremony drew a holiday crowd as heats rose into 80s with a tea visit to Windsor Castle following the memorial. Darwin Simmons Dies at 62 Whitehall Businessman
Darwin Simmons 62, a Whitehall businessman, died Thursday night in a Butte hospital after a brief illness. Born July 5, 1902 in Blackfoot Idaho, he worked in coal and ice, joined Skaggs Food Stores, then ran Payless Food Stores in Sheridan and Whitehall before converting the Whitehall shop to a clothing store in 1953.
