Five year sentence for teenage burglar
Robert Kittson 18 was sentenced in Butte district court to five years in prison after changing his plea to guilty on five counts of felony burglary at Mining City businesses between November 18 and January 26 Judge Arnold Olsen ordered the term with credit for time served and placement at Swan River Youth Forest Camp near Kalispell. Three men face felony theft charges for breakins at Butte schools with bonds set at 7500 each for May 27 prelims.

Whitehall vo ag advisory committee explained to aid program
Leonard Lombardi of the state Department of Public Instruction and Dr. Gayle Lacry discussed the advisory committee role to assist the vo ag and trades and industries program in Whitehall. Three installations will equip the shop and $18 189 in federal funds was received in January with more installments due after July 1 and next year. Whitehall reportedly had the first vo ag program in the state. Frank Westfall of Deer Lodge was among the first graduates in Whitehall. Thirteen men, potential committee members, attended the meeting.
