Mrs. Aubrey Knowles of Billings and Alfred Taylor Hibbard of Helena were named Montana's outstanding business man and woman of the year by Montana State University School of Business Administration. Knowles served as secretary of the Republican National Committee in 1952 and has been a Montana RNC member since 1940. Hibbard, chairman of Union Bank and Trust Co., Helena, became president in 1933 and later board chair in 1955. he has led banking associations and wartime finance efforts. A government report says range grasses should grow well with warmer weather and may ease hay shortages spreading across Montana. Moisture is above normal. early April precipitation boosted soil moisture but stock water is tight in parts of the state. Calving is 81 percent complete with 3 to 4 percent calf losses from early storms, lambing at 72 percent, and fall delivery contracts noted for calves and lambs at 20 to 22 cents and 19 to 21 cents per pound respectively.
