Pioneer Resident of Great Falls Taken by Death
Mrs Kata C Beachley 95, one of the first Great Falls residents, died at her son in law and daughter’s home in Hardybridge south of Cascade. Born April 22 1853 in Stoytown Pa she lived in Johnstown Pueblo and Great Falls since 1880. She was a charter member of First Presbyterian Olive Chapter Eastern Star and Shrine. Burial plans at Crawford’s mortuary announced.

Thomas Schumacher of Butte was named winner in the fifth and sixth grade division of the annual contest by the American Dairy Association of Brentana. Bozeman hosts the international livestock show at Montana State College from Thursday through Saturday. The event honors Montana operators and contributions to the livestock industry. John Gallagher Taken by Death in Anaconda
John Gallagher a longtime Anaconda resident and foreman at the Copper Mining company died Tuesday night in St. Ann hospital after a period as a patient. He lived at 602 Cherry and leaves two sons plus daughters in law, a daughter in law, a son in Anaconda, siblings, and many relatives. He was active in St. Baul church and several fraternal orders. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

U S Funds Assure Food Rations for Five Chinese Cities
Washington May 12 The United States provides 96.5 million dollars to supply food and fuel for five major Chinese allies as part of a 238 million dollar China aid program. The first U S financed shipments from the Far West and Middle East include rice purchases in Burma and Siam, Wheat or flour from the United States, six million in petroleum from the Persian Gulf, and frozen grain from the Netherlands, with ECA Administrator Paul C Hoffman announcing the allotment.
