Fifteen Miners Rescued From Flooded WV Mine
In Hominy Falls West Virginia fifteen coal miners were rescued after five days entombed in a flooded passageway of Gauley Coal and Coke Co mine. Ten others remain unaccounted for presumed dead. Mine safety engineers crawled through a low tunnel on a belt to reach and guide the men to safety at 5 20 a m EDT. Nine were taken to a Richwood hospital for examination and all appeared strong despite some dizziness and weakness.

Gallatin crash kills two from Glendive
Two young Glendive residents died in a one car crash Saturday on Secondary 287, about 114% miles north and west of West Yellowstone. Duane George Kutzler, 23, and Londa Kay Lovaas, about 18, were killed when the car failed to negotiate a curve and struck an approach. The deaths were the 63rd and 64th on Montana highways this year.
