Friends in Cushing duel leave two wounded
In Cushing Oklahoma a midnight gun duel in a floodlit backyard wounded two longtime friends Arthur Simpson 32 and J R Johnson 39 near Simpson s home. Simpson suffered six .38 caliber wounds including the stomach while Johnson took ten .22 caliber bullets from chest to leg. Both were alive but seriously injured with Johnson removed from critical list later. The event occurred while their wives were at a PTA meeting and neighbor J J Collyar watched as shots rang out.

Missoula Man Dies After Tractor Incident
MISSOULA Bill Mackie 24 died Tuesday night in a Missoula hospital from injuries after a tractor he was driving in a logging operation near Superior in Fish Creek rolled over on him. He suffered a broken neck chest injuries and paralysis of limbs. He worked for Buck Helena Logging Co. Survived by mother and brother.
