Two Montanans died in separate crashes raising the state highway death toll to 83. Joseph R. Planansky 24 a Three Forks laborer died when his late model convertible rolled after skidding 30 miles south of Three Forks on Willow Creek Road. Peter Square 54 a Shonkin area ranch worker died when his pickup skidded and rolled into a coulee 20 miles southwest of Fort Benton. he was thrown and pinned underneath.
