Plans call for landscaping, playgrounds, tennis and handball courts, wading pools and swings while retaining existing stands and fields for state league baseball and major collegiate football. Deed delivered to city attorneys as mayor notes ample space for a public playground and immediate work is to begin.

Ex-Convict Found Alive After Nine Years Must Testify
P William A. Chapman once clerk of the United States court in Shanghai and an embezzler of $30,000 was found alive in Los Angeles. Treasury agents had pursued him for nine years to obtain testimony needed to collect $20,000 from bondsmen. Chapman served at McNeil Island federal prison and vanished after his 1926 release.
