Forsyth Man Elected President Of Montana Dental Association

Dr. H. 8. Degnafijof Forsyth was elected president of the Montana State Dental association at the closing session of the 39th annual convention. Officers include Dr. J. A. Herzog of Butte as president elect and Dr. T. T. Ryder of Missoula as secretary treasurer. Retiring president is Dr. F. W. Adams of Billings. Highlights feature talks on dentistry, acrylics, denture repair, and a Montana unit of the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

Montana beet growers face an acute labor shortage hindering the 1942 sugar program. Kruse reports only 175,857 acres planted so far of the 86,000 targeted, with 11,363 acres unseeded due to scarce workers. Schools and white collar workers are being asked to help to meet production goals.

Butte to Get New Mn manganese purchasing station

The War Production Board approved establishing a manganese purchasing station near Butte to buy and stockpile manganese. Carl J. Trauerman of the Mining Association of Montana says the move has long been advocated by Montana mining men. He also noted a desire for a chrome ore office.

Murmansk Under Heavy Nazi Finnish Air Assault

Pravda reports a sustained air offensive on Murmansk by German and Finnish planes aiming to sever Soviet Arctic supply routes. Soviet flyers, aided by US and British planes, claim 64 enemy planes shot down over Murmansk with raids also hitting Finland and Norway railways and bridges.

Wallace Forecasts Axis Strike From Alaska to Latin America

President Wallace warned in New York that the Axis plans a major attack this summer, including a Japanese strike on Alaska and the Northwest coast and a German uprising in Latin America aided by governments at peace with the United States.
