Desperate killers die in two hour New York gun battle
Two of New York State’s most wanted criminals A confessed killer of a girl and a man accused by his sweetheart of killing a police officer fought police for two hours in a West Side apartment district. A 16 year old girl sat during the bombardment writing farewell notes for herself and her sweetheart. Francis Crowley was wounded and hospitalized, Rudolph Duraige surrendered after confessing. Helen Walsh, 16, was with them writing notes as bullets and tear gas filled the room.
