Desperate Flight Crew After White Mountain Crash
Two Dartmouth Medical School doctors described a four day, life threatening struggle after their single engine plane crashed in the White Mountain National Forest near Lincoln New Hampshire. The February crash occurred when a carburetor deicer failed and storms buried them under four feet of snow. They endured subzero cold hunger and failed snowshoe attempts while searching for rescue as engines were heard in the distance and faded.
