Peter Pauly dies in Missoula after illness at 81
Peter Pauly 81 prominent Montana wool grower and Deer Lodge banker died Thursday at St Patrick hospital Missoula after a six week illness. He arrived in Montana at 17 and helped build the Deer Lodge Valley cattle and sheep business becoming a leading figure in wool growing and banking. Pauly served as Montana Wool Growers Association president in 1938 and later honorary president. He helped found Deer Lodge Bank and Trust Company in 1921 and held directorships with Montana Power Company and the Federal Reserve Bank branch in Helena.

Communists Offer Eight Point Korea POW Plan
The Communists proposed a new eight point plan to break the Korea POW deadlock and push toward an armistice.
