Butte Couple Escape After Car Plunges Into Hauser Lake
Leon and wife Lemieux survived when their car dove 50 feet into 30 feet of water near Devil's Elbow at Hauser Lake. Neither was seriously injured. they swam to shore and were taken to Butte. The couple, staying at a summer home, had been en route to York to tidy their cabin.

The Butte Business College will relocate May 25 from 325 W. Galena to the Texas Building at 220 N. Alaska in its fourth move in 72 years. Owner David Doane and manager James F. In Sumerville Georgia UPI reports a bloodhound named Joe failed to return after days of chasing four work camp escapees. One fugitive Frank Scott said Joe outran the pack and even tied up the dog after patting him. Police later found Joe tied to a tree as the manhunt continued.
