Sawlog fire near Wise River swells to 1500 acres
The Sawlog fire in Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest about 15 miles northeast of Wisdom and near Wise River is now estimated at 1,500 acres. Dry fuels and gusty winds hindered fighting on Saturday. cooler weather Sunday should improve conditions as crews focus on securing edges and mopping up hot spots. About 51 personnel were on site with eight smokejumpers arriving to access inaccessible areas.
