Butte man charged with more counts from jail
Jeremiah Wing, already jailed on aggravated assault and robbery, faces five more felonies and two misdemeanors for allegedly violating protection orders by calling a restrained woman seven times from the Butte jail in late February and early March. He pleaded not guilty and bail was set at 25000. Prosecutors also allege Wing and another man robbed two people at gunpoint on February 16 and that Wing beat a female relative in the same day.

Butte Students Shine at City Hall of Fame Quiz
Nik Weiss, a fifth grader from West Elementary, won the city hall of fame quiz with 24 600 points as 36 students from grades four through six competed in a Jeopardy style test across social studies, math, science, reading, language and spelling at Butte High School Auditorium.

St. Pat's cemetery navigation aided by MT Tech students
Montana Technological University students in partnership with the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives are developing a software tool to help locate gravesites at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Archival director Aubrey Jaap notes the site is hard to navigate and poorly labeled, with some lots lacking graves. The project traces to Jim Sullivan of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, who aimed to improve St. Pat's, and Doug Galarus, the Tech professor guiding the effort since 2020.
