Murder Trial Opens Monday in Gust Case
Trial of Louis Gust on a murder charge is to open Monday May 13 in Judge J J Lynch's department. The term also lists ten narcotic cases two burglary cases and a statutory case set for May 15. Earl Barber pleads not guilty to burglary with trial set for May 16 linked to a Great Northern box car break in. Gust is accused of fatally shooting Tom Kallas at the Olympia club February seventeenth after an alleged quarrel involving Gust’s wife.

Hair Pulling Leads to Divorced For Peg Entwistle
In Los Angeles on May 4, Peg Entwistle formerly Millicent Keith won a divorce from Lee Keith after testimony that he pulled a fistful of her hair and warned he had never been married before. A New York hotel detective intervened to prevent injury. Entwistle also testified about discovering a son from Keith's previous marriage and a deputy sheriff demanding $1,000 back alimony.

Building permits filed in city office for three projects
A total of 23700 in building permits was issued by the commissioner of public works. Montana Transfer company received the largest permit for a garage on East Platinum Street. Butte Machinery company asked for offices at its plant on West Aluminum Street costing 2000. Ansonia theater got a 1700 permit to remodel the projection booth.
